Volunteers are Priceless!
Volunteering is a very rewarding experience. At the shelter you help to get abused and homeless cats a loving home, while you brush up on your cleaning skills. You will get to meet some really great people and cats. Just giving a few hours makes all the difference.

Please note: Cat shelter roster duties include cage cleaning, litter box maintenance, feeding, general shelter cleaning, laundry, grooming and medicating (when necessary) and of course, socialising the cats and kittens.
Volunteer requirements

All volunteers should have a current tetanus vaccine.

All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers between the ages of 13 and 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Shelter work is physical – bending and lifting is extensive. If you can’t handle physical work, consider joining one of our committees, such as fundraising.

Volunteers must enjoy direct contact with cats and have some experience in handling them.

Average time needed is 2-4 hours weekly or fortnightly or work around your schedule.

Volunteers are needed mornings, late afternoons, weekdays and weekends.

Volunteers must provide their own transportation to the shelter in Billinudgel.

For health safety volunteers may not work at the shelter if pregnant.
